What is a WDAT Interconnection?
WDAT applies to all generating/storage facilities interconnecting to SDG&E’s Distribution System and selling at wholesale to the California Marketplace.
For interconnections of generating/storage facilities interconnecting to SDG&E’s Distribution System and selling only to SDG&E under Rule 21, refer to the Rule 21 .

WDAT interconnection requests seeking Deliverability are now required to separately submit to CAISO’s Cluster Study Criteria Scoring Process during an open CAISO Cluster Application Window. Application is made to the CAISO at grip-external.caiso.com. See Section 10 of the WDAT GIP for more information.
Note on Deliverability: WDAT projects in the latest CAISO Deliverability Allocation were allocated zero deliverability in the SDG&E service territory. CAISO’s report on potential deliverability posted on March 2, 2026 shows zero available deliverability in SDG&E’s service territory.
